As the Pastor, I want to say what a privilege it is to be able to serve at Glennwood Baptist Church, a place where God is working both in and through His church. Here at Glennwood we are seeking to glorify our Lord in worshipping Him in Spirit and Truth. We are looking to honor Christ by proclaiming the Authorative, Inspired and Infallible Word of God that changes lives and produces hope to all who believe.
Our goal is to equip and edify the Body for the work of the ministry. We are excited about what God has done, is doing and will do through this local body of loving people who care for each other and give of themselves to bring honor and glory to Jesus Christ.
Our mission is to help each other glorify God as we work together to reach our community, our county, our country and the world with the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.
We would love for you to partner with us as we have partnered with Christ.
In Christ love,
Pastor Tim Thompson

As far back as I can remember I have always wanted to be part of something bigger than myself. I feel that God calls each of us down a path that only he has a map to. Some people's paths are pretty straight and others take many turns to get them where they need to be. My path has taken many turns but the one thing that has been a central theme has been helping others.
My path to becoming Youth Director started in high school when I decided I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up, but knew I wanted to help other people. Later I graduated from Gardendale high school and went to college where after trial and error on several Majors I received two degrees from UAB a Bachelor in Arts degree in History and a Masters Degree in Secondary Education. I met my wife Maralyn during this time period and now we have an amazing child Connor.
I began my teaching career in a small private Christian school where I was teaching history, but soon after realized I was teaching a lot more than history. I was sharing Jesus with students who needed something bigger than their situations. Soon after I began to realize what God was planning for my future and I answered the call to the ministry. Since surrendering to that calling God has done nothing but bless me and I thank him each day for the opportunity to be in the lives of young people.

A little about your family? Tammy and I have 3 beautiful children.  Our oldest, Jake, just graduated from the University of Alabama with a magna cum laude degree in Mechanical Engineering.  He is continuing his studies now to get his masters and eventually PhD.  Jessica is a senior and just released her first original single "Back to the Cross." Jared is a sophomore and loves basketball.  All of them are blessed with musical talents as well.  Jake sings and plays guitar. Jessica sings, plays piano, plays guitar and has recently picked up drawing (and she really can draw).  Jared, even though shy, has a great voice for singing.  It is really fun around the house when we all bring our music together.
Hometown? I was born in Huntsville, Alabama and grew up most of my life in Anniston, Alabama.
Education background? Studied Music Performance with a focus in Music Arranging at the University of Alabama.
Why music ministry? From the day I first picked up my trumpet, there was no doubt about what instrument I wanted to play.  Over the years, God began to show me what He wanted me to do with my music.  Combined with the power of a trumpet, arranging music and my love for the ministry, my service became very clear.  Serving in praise bands, praise teams, choirs, and orchestras was only the beginning.  Add to that a beautiful and talented wife that loves to serve God, we have fully committed ourselves to His ministry.  We can't wait to see what God is doing with us and Glennwood Baptist Church.
How did you meet your wife? We were both scholar shipped musicians at the University of Alabama School of Music. Even though I had met and worked with her several times, it wasn't until we were in the Tuscaloosa Talent Competition that we made our real first connection.
