A message from Pastor Tim Thompson (3/17/2020)

Church Family

This morning as I was studying and seeking answers I kept coming across this phrase in scripture, “they inquired of the Lord”. This was and should always be our starting point during anytime of uncertainty. No matter the problem or opponent , no matter the size of the problem or opponent we first “inquire of the Lord”, for assurance and answers. We are to diligently seek His Face through the study of His word and fervently pray. I want to encourage each of you to read 2nd Chronicles chapter 6 and 7. This is the occasion where Solomon was dedicating the Temple and looking for answers. During his prayer in chapter 6 starting in verse 12 you will see Solomon acknowledging who God is, praising Him for who He is and then ask some serious questions. He wanted to know based on who God is what should His people do during times of adversity and calamity. What would we as God’s people do when uncertain times arise? Go does not leave him nor us without an answer!

12 Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: “I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice. 13 When I shut up heaven and there is no rain, or command the locusts to devour the land, or send pestilence among My people, 14 if My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 15 Now My eyes will be open and My ears attentive to prayer made in this place” ~ 2 Chronicles 7:12-15

Nothing that is going on is a surprise to God nor is it out of His control. Let us as His people called by His name humbly pray and seek His face while ministering in His name.

I am praying for each of you and I am encouraging all of us to stay connected to one another through prayers, cards, calls and internet until we can be back and worship together.

Love In Christ

Bro. Tim
